KURUKSHETRA: A day after a student exposed paper leak before the vice-chancellor of Kurukshetra University, the institution made changes in the process of distributing papers to examination centres. The VC also gave orders to open question papers at examination centres only under CCTV cameras.
On June 14 night, mathematics question paper of BSc (2nd semester) was circulated on WhatsApp.
A girl student, who also received the paper on her mobile phone, reached vice-chancellor DDS Sandhu's residence on 7.30am on Monday apprising him of the leak. "The VC tallied it with the original paper and found both to be same following which he ordered cancellation of the exam," said sources.
On May 25, question papers of BSc (4th semester) and BCom (6th semester) were leaked the same way. "University has constituted a committee to inquire into the incidents of paper leaks. In future, question papers will not be sent directly to examination centres. A nodal centre at the district level will hand over the papers to superintendent of each examination centre just before the exam. Everything will be done under CCTV cameras and all centres will have to maintain record of CCTV footage for three months," said Sandhu.
